| Synopsis: One of the saloon girls has a serious crush on Clay, and he likes to flirt back. She is very beautiful, and Clay enjoys her conservation. Against his better judgment Clay decides to take her on as a client, but Julie Reynolds wants more than an attorney/client relationship. Her case is an interesting one as he must try to extract back wages from her card cheating boss, Harry the gambler. Julie’s rival is an aging hostess whom Harry has recently fired due to Julie’s popularity. Eventually, Julie convinces Harry to pay half her wages. Later that night, Harry is found dead, stabbed in the back. Julie’s knife is the murder weapon. Gib wants to throw her in jail immediately--no questions asked. Can Clay clear her or will she be hung for murder?

Madlyn Rhue She was born Madleine Roche on October 3, 1935 in Washington DC. A character actress she appeared in many movies including the Cary Grant comedy Operation Petticoat (1959) and It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad World (1963). Her most well-known guest star appearance was in the 1967 Star Trek episode Space Seed where she played Lt. Marla McGivers and was the love interest of Khan Noonien Singh. She continued to act in many other television programs including Cheyenne, Rawhide, Charlie’s Angels and Fantasy Island. She even did appearances on the game show Match Game. She was married once to actor Tony Young in 1962, but they divorced in 1970. They had one child. Madlyn was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in the mid-1970's and became confined to a wheelchair in 1977. She continued to act and appeared on Days of Our Lives as Daphne DiMera from 1982-1984. She played the recurring character of a librarian in the hit TV series Murder She Wrote. Angela Landsbury, the series star was reported to have heard Madlyn was about to lose her Screen Actors Guild medical coverage due to not meeting the annual earnings requirements. Angela would bring Madlyn in every third or fourth episode to meet those requirements and she became a regular on the show. Her character was popular addition to the show. Madlyn spent her remaining days at the Motion Picture and Television Country Home retirement center in Woodland Hills CA and died on December 16, 2003 of pneumonia. -Biography by 1262Mac
